INFORMATION AND ADVICE
Key information is provided by this document to confirm the
kinds of financial services offered by Wickett Insurance
Broking and the financial products related to these
services.
We provide service and act on your behalf in attempting to
secure appropriate covers to meet your needs and objectives.
However, your assistance is needed to understand your
requirements. You have the right not to divulge information so we
must advise the possible consequences of not receiving your full
personal information.
If urgent advice is required and provided then reliance on that
advice should be limited until the advice is confirmed in writing.
Wickett Insurance Broking confirms all verbal advice and
information in writing if requested.
We comply with the Federal Privacy Amendment Act 2000 and The
General Insurance Information Privacy Principles which set
standards for collection, use, disclosure and handling of personal
information.
DUTY OF DISCLOSURE
Before you enter into a contract of general insurance with an
Insurer, you have a duty, under the Financial Services Reform Act,
to disclose to the Insurer every matter you know or could be
reasonably expected to know, is relevant to the Insurer’s decision
whether to accept the risk of the insurance and if so, on what
terms.
You have the same duty to disclose these matters to the Insurer
before you renew, extend, vary or reinstate a contract of general
insurance.
Your duty does not require disclosure of matter:
- That diminishes the risk undertaken by the Insurer
- That is of common knowledge
- That your Insurer knows, or in the ordinary course of his
business, ought to know, and
- Which compliance with the duty is waived by the Insurer.
INSURANCE PRODUCTS AND REMUNERATION
Wickett Insurance Broking will assist in meeting your general
insurance requirements by providing a wide range of insurance
products to suit your needs.
In providing these services, Wickett Insurance Broking and/or
the authorised representative has the following sources of
income.
- A broker fee as stated on the invoice.
- Commission as a percentage of the premium you pay. The level of
commission will be advised on your request.
- Interest is paid on monies contained in the trust account until
premiums are paid to the Insurer on your behalf.
- If premium is funded with arrangements made by Wickett
Insurance Broking commission may be paid by the financier.
All retail products are subject to a 14 day cooling-off period
and you may withdraw from the contract during this period at no
cost.
If you wish to cancel an existing policy, a written and signed
request must be provided. A brokers fee may apply in the event of
mid-term cancellation of a policy.
ENQUIRIES AND COMPLAINTS
Wickett Insurance Broking has its own “complaints handling
system” which commences with our Complaints Officer who will
initially consider the details and hopefully resolve the problem.
If unresolved, his response will be accountable to Insurance
Brokers Disputes Limited.
